Jeffrey N. Costakos is a trial and appellate lawyer with over 30 years’ experience litigating complex patent cases before courts throughout the United States. Jeff has tried dozens of patent cases as lead trial counsel in U.S. district courts, involving computer-related and other technology.

Jeff joined Carmichael IP from an AmLaw 100 firm, where he was chair of that firm’s highly-rated Intellectual Property Litigation Practice. While there, Jeff teamed with Richard Florsheim (now also with Carmichael IP) for decades on patent litigation cases.

Jeff was named "Lawyer of the Year" for Patent Litigation by Best Lawyers in America in 2019 and 2023.
